the tree of life by gustav klimt (1909)

A strong desire to reach deep into the earth
and plant myself like a tree into the soil.
To reach my hands up into the air
and sway with the winds.
To extend my limbs in giving need
for life to perch upon them.
To receive the ladybugs, spiders, and moths.
Feeling the tickle of the squirrel that winds upwards
over the trunk of my skin, dangling onto the branch
of my faith
I remain still enjoying the loveliness of it all.
Standing peacefully...
I give, and give, and give
in a most delightful way.
